Roaming Roanoke: Launching Pad
For this edition of Roaming Roanoke, we visited a popular place in the area – Launching Pad Trampoline Park!
It is officially Spring and that means warm weather, cold weather, rain, storms, and sunshine, haha. Each day brings a different weather pattern. Going somewhere indoors is the best idea when it is cool or rainy or even too hot! This is also Spring Break or will be Spring Break soon (it feels like Christmas was a few weeks ago!). If you are at home for Spring Break, Launching Pad Trampoline Park is a great way to spend a day having fun! It is great for kids and adults!
Launching Pad Trampoline Park and Family Fun Center is advertised as Roanoke Valley’s only indoor trampoline park. If you love jumping on trampolines, this is the place to go! There are trampolines of all sizes and styles! There are regular jumping trampolines, a dodgeball section, a basketball section (everyone can dunk!), an airbag pit, and an area with what I like to call a dive board into a trampoline but the official name is the Launch Tower. There are more than just trampolines! There is a jousting pit with foam below, a rope ladder with foam underneath, a climbing wall, bumper cars, a ninja warrior course, and an arcade. It also has a snack bar. There is something for everyone! My five-year-old daughter’s favorite thing is the climbing wall! My six-year-old son loves the bumper cars!
Children of all ages and adults can have fun here! Launching Pad charges by the amount of time you spend there. You can buy tickets for 30 minutes, one hour, 90 minutes, or two hours. Right now pricing is $12 for 30 minutes, $17 for one hour, $21 for 90 minutes, and $26 for two hours. Currently, there is a weekday special for $22 for two hours (great for Spring Break!).
You also have to have grip socks to jump. They cost $2 and you can bring them back each time. You can buy tickets at the door or online https://www.launchingpadsalem.com/home Also, check the website or facebook page for the hours because the hours change with the season and due to Covid regulations.
Safety is a top priority here. All participants have to sign a waiver before being allowed to enter. You must watch a safety video before jumping or doing any activities. Employees are stationed throughout the floor and at each activity to make sure people follow the rules.
Crowd size varies depending on the day and time. We have been on weekdays when there are only a few others inside. We recently went on a weekend for a birthday party and it was very crowded. The website says it is currently operating at 40% capacity due to Covid guidelines.
Launching Pad Trampoline Park and Family Fun Center is a great place to burn off some energy and have family fun! Adults can feel like kids again jumping on the trampolines and kids can have fun feeling big flying through the air! We recently went to a five-year-old’s birthday party and most of the kids at the party didn’t want to leave the trampoline area! I’ve also been there before and seen college students having a great time!
Launching Pad Trampoline Park is located in Salem at 1300 Intervale Dr. You can buy tickets, sign the waiver, or learn about all the attractions on the website at https://www.launchingpadsalem.com/home
Happy Spring and Happy Easter!
